Key Meetings in Brussels
Minister Fraser's European journey commenced in Brussels, where he engaged with pivotal figures from the European Union, including representatives from the European Commission and Council, as well as ProtectDefenders.eu. Discussions were also held with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, Front Line Defenders, the International Organization for Migration, and the Migration Policy Institute Europe. These conversations centered on Canada's response to the Afghan crisis and the repercussions of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
