Milestone Achievements
- Over 16,300 French-speaking immigrants settled in Francophone minority communities across Canada in 2022.
- This figure marks a substantial increase from just over 2,800 admissions in 2006, representing a leap from 1.38% to 4.4%.
- This influx is the largest recorded since the data collection began, underscoring the growing appeal and necessity of Francophone inclusion.
These newcomers are not merely residents; they are vital contributors to the development and vitality of communities outside Quebec. Their presence diversifies Canada’s cultural and linguistic landscape and injects new energy into local economies.
Strengthening Community and Economy
Achieving this target showcases Canada's commitment to enhancing the vitality of Francophone minority communities. The influx of French-speaking immigrants bolsters the promotion of the French language across the nation and plays a crucial role in addressing labor shortages.

Canada's dedication to Francophone immigration extends beyond this landmark achievement. The government is steadfast in its efforts to develop a comprehensive Francophone immigration policy that will further bolster population growth and economic prosperity.
