Ottawa, July 25, 2023 — In a bold affirmation of its commitment to human rights and international solidarity, Canada has announced a significant expansion of its resettlement program for human rights defenders (HRDs). The Honourable Sean Fraser, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, revealed that the number of resettlement spaces for HRDs and their families will double from 250 to 500.
